Sarah Mayburn So much moreThe forest was a haven in so many ways for Sarah. Firstly even though the sunlight still shone through the leaves, nobody would find her. Only those who were with her would see the golden aura that shimmered all around her. It made her feel special, even different, but that feeling was usually short lived.
She sat patiently on a fallen tree waiting for Kveld. A man she had met only a few days ago was taking up so much of her time. She didn't really know how she felt about him though. On the one hand he was like a trusted friend or father she never had. On the other was something she didn't know if she agreed with, something she only realized know as she sat waiting for him to come and join her. But she didn't want that, after all he was like over ten years older. She would just stick to thinking of him as a friend. She wasn't about to let herself sabotage the only friend she had. If she could help it.
She decided to think about something else for a while, what was she planning on doing after this little hunt. Maybe go down to the bookstore and grab a book or two. Maybe she could find one on werewolf eticate(sp?), since she was in a werewolf clan now after all. She didn't want to embarrass anybody after all.

Kveld O'Connor Protect and Serve Til Death do us Part Aryan Duty's Middle Name After a short trip to the apartment, Kveld and Aryan, now off his leash and collar, returned to their second home. Hell, there was nothing else to call the forest, as there had been many a night in his youth that Kveld had huddled in a hollow log with a packmate and slept the day away within the forest. Aryan, himself, was born in the forest. Of course, if held worse memories, but most were outweighed by the fact that the forest was kind to them.
From five hundred paces, Kveld caught Sarah's scent wafting on the breeze. He nodded to Aryan, who was interested in getting to the vampire girl quicker than Kveld was walking. The werewolf watched as the wolf pup sprinted off in the direction, causing him to grin.
In the short time, of having met and known Sarah Mayburn, Kveld wasn't sure if he was a guardian, servant, friend, or maybe something more to the vampire girl. Yes, he had accepted her into his pack, with no conversation with his pack. He had taken a big risk, the Moonwalker pack was strong and their hatred for the vampires flowed deep, maybe to deep for Kveld to allow anyone of his packmates around Sarah without having to worry about them trying to kill her.
Pushing the thoughts away, Kveld came into view of Sarah and Aryan, who was dancing around the fallen log she was sitting on, trying to get to her. He was licking at her feet, causing Kveld to shake his head. "Aryan . . . . Go play, ye silly whelp," Kveld grumbled, watching as the pup simply sat on his rump and looked back at him like 'we're in the forest, you can't order me around.' "On with ye, pup," he growled, fixing to bend down and swat at the pup. [/blockquote]

Sarah Mayburn So much more Sarah chuckled to herself "Don't hurt the pup Kveld, he was just trying to be friendly...I think. Can't read him as well as you do...He wasn't tying to eat my toes was he?" She was in a reasonably good mood at this moment, probably because she was going to grab something to eat, hopefully. She didn't really know what was planned, she doubted even Kveld did. Possibly o deeper into the forest grab something...or just a hike. Hopefully Kindler didn't turn up today. He was irritating her a bit, his scent been a slight tinge thick around her small cabin. But he never stayed long enough for it to be of any harm. He probably did fear the werewolves.

Kveld O'Connor Protect and Serve Til Death do us Part Aryan Duty's Middle Name Sighing, Kveld drew back as Sarah told him not to hurt Aryan. Suddenly, the idea of being Sarah's Guardian didn't sound so good anymore. "As ye wish," he growled, reaching up with a slightly claw-tipped hand and rubbed the back of his neck. "Ready tae hike?" he questioned, "Oar do ye want tae hunt?" he offered, not knowing if she would be willing to hunt together, or ask to hunt apart. [/blockquote]

Sarah Mayburn So much more "Totally up to you, I don't mind either way To be honest she had only ever hunted by herself, she didn't think hunting with another would be problematic. Well hopefully not, she didn't think she would turn on him or anything. She didn't think she could.
While waiting for the answer she sniffed the air, searching for what she wanted. She didn't have any particular cravings today so anything would do.

Kveld O'Connor Protect and Serve Til Death do us Part Aryan Duty's Middle Name Nodding, Kveld kind of just stood there for a moment, unsure of what to do next. His nose told him deer had been by, possibly about twenty or thirty minutes ago. "Haw bout deer?" he questioned, one hand still behind his neck, while the other inched up there and joined its left hand man. He stood there, feet shoulder width apart, muscles taunt, arms bent, and his fingers laced together.
"Also, do ye want privacy, or do ye need tae change?" he asked, not being able to remember ever seeing a vampire hunt. He wasn't sure if Sarah would want to change clothes, or if she would have a problem with him changing infront of her. He, honestly, wouldn't care either way, has he had been changing infront of people since he had come to Rawian. [/blockquote]

Sarah Mayburn So much more I'm a vampire not a werewolf Kveld Sarah said tiltng her head to the side slightly. Deer does sound good though. She hadn't seen him change before. Standing for a moment it hit her that maybe he wanted the privacy. "um well, bet you I can get it first She said before disapearing. She closed her eyes for a moment before lifting her head lightly and grabbing the scent. She had her prey.
She began moving slowley towards the creature. She didn't feel the need to rush to much, except for the bet she had just made. There was nothing dangerous around. Though Kveld would probably win the bet anyway.

Kveld O'Connor Protect and Serve Til Death do us Part Aryan Duty's Middle Name Kveld shook his head as Sarah suddenly offered a bet. "What da ye have in mind, lassie? What da I be gettin' if I win?" he questioned, unlacing his fingers and slowly pulling off his shirt, while kicking off his shoes. Once his shirt and shoes were near the tree that Sarah had been siting on, he started after Sarah, pacing her, while his legs slowly started to shift into their werewolf mold.
His eyes flashed golden, while his chest only seemed to get bigger. A thin layer of black fur started to sprout, but stayed short, as Kveld wasn't going to change all the way. [/blockquote]

Sarah Mayburn So much more I don't know, you decide. How about I babysit Aryan for a bit or something? Sarah said as he neared her. The deer she had chosen was close...and Kveld was making a bit of noise, but she didn't mind. Sound was the least of her concerns.
She slowed just outside the clearing, circleling it swiftly before leaping up into a tree and gazing down at the deer. It looked peaceful, but that would end. Sadly that is what you got when you strayed from the herd. She waited for a bit judging distances and how much force she would need.

Kveld O'Connor Protect and Serve Til Death do us Part Aryan Duty's Middle Name Before they got to close to the deer, Kveld stopped and grinned, the affect lost with his fangs forming. "Oar if I win . . . . ye go out wid me. No strings attached, nothin'. Just a night of fun," he offered, suddenly serious as the scent of the lone deer hit him hard.
He turned from Sarah, even as she jumped up into the tree, eyes flashing gold as he spotted the deer. Crouching, he moved, silently closer to the deer, eyes intent on the soft flipping of the tail, to the slight stamp of her hoof. It was a slightly older doe, possibly four to seven years old. As Kveld crouched on the ground, he spotted movement off to the side and saw a fawn moving closer to the doe.
His mind didn't register the mother and child pair, only prey and food, and his bet with Sarah. The doe started to move and the fawn stayed put, interested in Aryan's scent, as the wolf pup peeked his nose through the bushes. When the doe saw her fawn sniffing at a wolf pup, she reared her head, white tail flicking up and the flight readable in her eyes.
Within an instant, Kveld lunging, hitting the doe hard in the chest, clawed right hand raised to deliver the killing blow, while the fawn bleated for its mother and Aryan yowled for his. [/blockquote]

Sarah Mayburn So much more Well She hadn't had much time to say whether she agreed to what Kveld had said as his winnings, she didn't even think of it, she was too concerned with the hunt. As she was preparing herself to leap down and kill the doe Kveld got it. He had won. She knew he probably would but it didn't stop her feeling a sort off disapointment. It was short lived though.
She heard both the fawn's and Aryan's cry. The pup should have stayed away while they were hunting. She was pulled out of her hunting mode to find she was sitting accross from the pup. She just sat there looking at him before stretching out her hand and stroking his fur slightly. In a hope to calm him. The fawn was of no intrest to her at this moment.

Kveld O'Connor Protect and Serve Til Death do us Part Aryan Duty's Middle Name A crime. That was what Kveld committed when he lifted his body up, allowing the doe to be free and run off, her fawn not far behind. He crouched there, golden orbs following their path, even after they were long gone from his sight. He had killed before, but never infront of Aryan . . . . and never infront of someone who was not his kind.
Granted, yes, Sarah might not have minded . . . . Had she truly been a vampire, but she was too kind. Too sweet, to be tainted by her vampiric blood. "Forgive me," he growled, golden orbs gazing off into the distance as Aryan crawled over to him, tail tucked between his legs and ears drawn back.
The wold pup lifted his body up, placing his front paws on Kveld's slightly furry chest and nuzzled at the werewolf, all the while whimpering. "De doe be still near, if ye hurry, Sarah. Ye could still have ye kill," he growled, still crouched as he placed a clawed hand over Aryan's back, ready to shelter the pup from any noises that could be made. [/blockquote]

Sarah Mayburn So much more"You were supposed to make the kill though" Sarah said leaning against the tree. So much for the meal, but she would have rather had a roe than a mother. She didn't like leaving others without thier parents. It reminded her too much of her own childhood.
She watched Kveld and Aryan and suddenly felt very misplaced. She was suddenly hit by everything at once. What was she doing? She wasn't a werewolf, she didn't belong here, and no matter how much she tried to be the same. She would never be. Unless...She was already a hybrid, having another species within her wouldn't change much would it?
Though she doubted she would ever get Kveld to agree or any other werewolf for that matter. She was what she was after all. The one part of her was something werewolves hated. She suddenly felt her good mood leave her. She wanted her mother again, she remembered how her mum used to hug her whenever a hint of tears would approach. She probably should get going before she burst infront of him.
Um...I think I should maybe, go She said, she didn't even think of her emotion showing in her voice. She just wanted to get to her cabin and bury herself in her bed sheets...and cry. She was diffrent. Even her own race rejected her.

Kveld O'Connor Protect and Serve Til Death do us Part Aryan Duty's Middle Name Hearing the hunger for the kill in Sarah's voice caused Kveld's slightly pointed auds to flick back against the side of his head, before he turned to her, seeing her leaing against a tree. In that moment, with him crouched, Aryan's front paws having slipped to his knee, and Sarah standing before them, he felt something deep inside him snap.
This beautiful creature held her life in her vampiric hands, while he protected her's with his werewolf claws. He sighed, barely hearing her say that she thought she should go. Rising quickly, he moved swiftly, blocking her away from the tree and just gazed at her.
The height difference put Sarah's head at chest-level on Kveld, a perfect place for someone her height to rest their head on him, while he held them. Slowly, he opened his arms, claws splayed to block her from goin under his arms. "Why leave, lass?" he questioned, head thingyed slightly to the side. "If ye want de deer . . . . I'll ga get ye one right now," he said, slowly already backing away. "All ye need tae say be one ward," he stated. [/blockquote]

Sarah Mayburn So much more Something about him was diffrent, it was like he wasn't hearing her speak. "Kveld, its not the deer, leave it. I am just a bit tired" She knew he knew as well as she did that vampires didn't need sleep. She would have tried to leave but he was blocking the way. And he was close to her, very close. She would normally have expected something like this to make her feel quite uncomfortable but it didn't. It in a way made her feel safe. But still that feeling would never leave her. The one where she felt misplaced in the world. But thinking about it know, even if she were with her own kind, and anyway it was easier to put up with it here. Kveld at least tried to ake her feel at home. Though she didn't know about the other werewolves. She hadn't even met any other werewolves. Kveld was the first and only one she had ever known.
